The Dubai Criminal Court held preliminary hearings yesterday in a case where an Asian barber is accused of offering a bribe of Dh104,000 for the renewal of 52 residence visas.
The defendant, MF, 38, attended the session with his lawyer and denied the charges. The lawyer examined prosecution witnesses Sergeant Hasan Mohammed Ali Sajwani, who was offered the bribe and reported the incident, and Mansour Omar Mansour, who arrested the defendant. Judge Fahmi Munir adjourned the case to November 18. The defendant has been remanded to custody.
