Burj Dubai will be opened on January 4 to coincide with the fourth anniversary of the accession to power by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

"We have opted to officially open the tower on this date as a gesture of gratitude towards Sheikh Mohammed, who is the builder of modern Dubai," said Emaar Chairman Mohammed Ali Alabbar.

Alabbar said Sheikh Mohammed's vision has brought about a quality shift in the process of development in the UAE and the region. Sheikh Mohammed has become an international symbol of creative development.

"And we are proud to have the opening of Burj Dubai, which is a unique world achievement, coincide with the country's celebration of this occasion." Burj Dubai embodies the ambitious vision of Sheikh Mohammed. "We are proud that this unique architectural masterpiece becomes a symbol that embodies the success story of Dubai and the UAE."
