A 24-year-old saleswoman yesterday admitted to Dubai Criminal Court of possessing 4.28 grams of heroin when she arrived at Dubai International Airport.

IK, 24, from Azerbaijan, was apprehended at the airport when her name surfaced on the Dubai police's wanted list.

The police found a plastic bag containing heroin in the accused's luggage.

The defendant, who had flown in on board an Uzbekistan Airways plane, told the court that she had forgotten to check the bag that contained the drug before leaving for Dubai. The case was adjourned until October 22.
