The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) will build a Dh12 million Sheikh Khalifa city in Pakistan for persons affected by earthquakes in Balakot.

An agreement to this effect was signed here yesterday by Khamis Al Suweidi, head of the RCA team, and Ghari Aziz Al Rahman, Chairman of the Earthquake Reconstruction and Development Authority (Erda), in the presence of the UAE Ambassador to Pakistan Ali Sultan Al Awani and Tariq Zaman, Director-General of Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority.

Zaman expressed the gratitude of the government and people of Pakistan to the UAE. The city will have modern health, education and services facilities. "The government of Pakistan will offer all necessary assistance and facilities," he said.
