Based in San Francisco it was found by Chriss Benett and Arrel Gray in 2011. At that time people questioned the viability of social commerce. Soldsie showed that companies and brands could easily sell on Facebook and Instagram. Using Soldsie they can put products and services up for sale with a template including price and item description. Consumers can then comment ‘Sold’ to buy the product or service. Soldsie raised $425,000 from 72 investors through crowdfunding, $1 million through a full seed round, and $4 million through their Series A funding.
